Breast Surgery Recovery workshop
Hello! My name is Kirsty and I’m a Lymphoedema Assistant Practitioner.
You’re here because you’ve been invited to attend the Post-Operative Breast Surgery Workshop.
The aim of this one off session is to ensure you are getting on well with your exercises (as per your blue book), to inform you on the risks and symptoms of Lymphoedema, discuss the importance of maintaining a good skin care routine and looking at regaining and maintaining your normal range of movement in your arms and shoulders going forward.
This is a small group session with up to 6 people per class. Someone from the Cancer Information and Wellbeing Centre may join us towards the end of the session to discuss further opportunities available to you to aid and support you in your recovery.
The presentation lasts approximately 20 minutes but I always allow plenty of time afterwards for any questions or concerns, and the opportunity for you to speak to other people in a similar situation to yourself.
I would recommend wearing comfortable clothing, something light and cool as the room can be warm especially in the summer months. Bring a bottle of water to keep hydrated, but be assured we will not be doing any strenuous activities.
I look forward to meeting you!
